It is no easy task to choose the right IT solution for your HSEQ Management System. The IT solution must not only meet the internal wishes and requirements of the business, it must also meet external requirements from authorities, customers, suppliers and other interested parties.

 The pilot study as a basis for the best system introduction

The best way to prepare the business for a system project is to conduct a pilot study in which you identify the processes, needs and circumstances of the business. On the basis of that pilot study, you can then draw up a specification of requirements as a basis for the system procurement. The questions of what is to be implemented must be answered at the analysis stage Why must it be implemented? What needs form the basis for it? Research and analyse different options.

The most important thing of all

Don't forget to involve several key people in the project. In particular, commitment by the management is crucial in terms of whether the introduction will be successful or not!

Questions you should ask yourself

• Have we identified the major questions that the pilot study should answer, including whether there are any laws, regulations, certifications and accreditations that must be taken into consideration?
• What systems and services must the procurement include?
• What does the existing IT structure look like?
